1 rubric K-2 Film Festival       popup preview  
Each classroom will produce one film to be submitted for the film festival. The films will be created using iPads and iMovie along with other apps. Each film will be based on a theme from this quarter. There will be awards during the film festival that the attendees will vote on. All audience members must RSVP for tickets to the film festival. Formal artist statements from each student detailing how they created their piece will be displayed along with photos of the students at work.

2 rubric Exponents Music Video       popup preview  
Student(s) will produce a group music video. The music video will begin with one person on screen and will show exponential increases and decreases of that person. Students should have an original storyboard and exponent signs. Roles will include storyboard artist, director, sign-maker, choreographer, camera operator, video editor (optional) and actors.

Students will create a dance that illustrates the concept of radial symmetry by having the same occurrence in each section;students also have to write a description of their process, detailing what radial symmetry is and how it was represented in the choreography. Using an online comic strip generator or drawing by hand, each student will create a comic strip to show understanding of a mathematical concept using the appropriate math vocabulary in the dialogue. 5 rubric Multiplication and Division Group Choreography       popup preview  
Students will create a dance that illustrates the concepts of multiplication and division by consistently adding and removing the same number of dancers from the choreography;students also have to write a description of their process, detailing what fact(s) they used and how it was represented in the choreography. Choreography should have a clear beginning, middle, and end; transitions that are seamless and movements that represent repeated addition and repeated subtraction of a single digit.

6 rubric Neighborhood Map       popup preview  
You are creating a map of your neighborhood. All streets and buildings need to be clearly named and drawn correctly. You need to incorporate at least 5 student-collected items, 4 2D shaped buildings, 2 3D shaped buildings, and 6 streets. Use a ruler to help you make a neat and attractive finished product. Finished product will also be conferenced with the teacher to determine understanding of locations and landmarks.

Students will take a trip around the building with their teacher looking for representations of the numbers 0-10 that they can take a picture of. The pictures will be compiled into a journal, collage, our other visual presentation that shows each digit's value pictorially and numerically. The students will also use the pictures to represent addition and subtraction math situations that they will complete as part of the project.

Students will use their bodies to create each number on the number line from 0-10. The teachers will take an overhead photo of each group “number” to use on the interactive number line. Then students will take photos/draw pictures/make paintings to represent each number using the following ELA themes: 1- family 2- things you do at school 3- types of pets 4- types of jobs 5- senses 6- ways to help others 7- ways to move 8- machines 9- wheels 10- shapes

9 rubric Out Of This World: The Musical       popup preview  
Each classroom will learn and sing a song about space with movement using the S3 portion of the ECR curriculum. The classes will also learn a song that they will all sing together as the finale to their musical. Finally, the students will record a one sentence artist statement detailing one thing they’ve learned about space. All performances will be filmed and edited as one collective musical film.

Each week, using the arts centers for Unit 4 in ECR, student created art will be installed in the art gallery. The ECR hallway will be converted into a formal gallery for each installation. Formal artist statements from each student detailing how they created their piece will be displayed along with photos of the students at work.
