Students completed a self portrait. They had some freedom in the materials they used and how they created their self portrait. If they chose to create a self portrait in an alternative style (manga, cartoon, zoomed in area of face, or 4 up close areas of face, etc) they were to discuss with teacher and create self portrait with good craftsmanship and effort.

A rubric for a student-created lapbook

Students must design and build a Rube Goldberg structure that utilizes 3 simple machines

Create a slideshow that answers the following questions. a) What type of landform did you research? (Add the photo to your slideshow) b) Describe the landform. c) Describe the area around the landform. d) What are the key characteristics of this landform? e) Does the photo have any unique characteristics that might give you a hint as to where it is located?

Create a food web consisting of organisms found in a chosen ecosystem. Name the organisms, show the flow of energy in the food web, classify organisms as producer, consumer (primary, secondary, or tertiary), decomposer; and indicate the impact in that community of removing one species. Describe three interactions that occur in within web. Predict what might happen if a component in the food web changes.

Students must create a cell model of a plant or animal cell, using edible materials. Models must show an understanding of the structure of a cell, including organelles, and their sizes. Models should also demonstrate attention to detail, creativity and neatness.

Students will write a reflection based on 3 days of following the Canada Food guide recommendations.
