This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your PowerPoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Write a diary/journal that one of the story’s main characters might have kept before, during, or after the book’s events. Remember that the character’s thoughts and feelings are very important in a diary. There must be at least one entry for each chapter.

You will create a map of your own city, using what you have learned from the maps we have studied. Your city must include: parallel and perpendicular streets, a grid system, a public gathering area (park or forum), and buildings for specific purposes (business, government, housing, education, and community care). Please include a map title, a compass rose and a map key. Remember to be creative!

Students will investigate a "mock" crime scene. The scene will be setup by teacher, and investigated by a student team within the class. Students will apply their newly acquired knowledge of crime scene investigation procedures and tactics.
