Rubric for grading a character analysis essay

Teacher will assign a specific story to evaluate students in their fluency. Teacher can make 4 different rounds to measure each fluency aspect individually.

Short speech rubric

Write a fable that illustrates a particular moral using imagined characters and events. Your fable should clearly demonstrate the moral and include a plot. You also should have your fable grammatically correct.

Diorama and Exposition evaluation.

Students will perform a skit to demonstrate mastery of vocabulary related to the story Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. They will be working in groups of 5 students. Students must prepare a brief skit (3 minutes to 5 minutes) that include phrases and vocabulary words from the story. Each group will have 45 minutes to write their skits and should be prepared to act out their skits. While the skits are being performed, class members are to observe and listen.

After reading the story Number the Stars, students will adapt the story by developing a skit.
