The students will be researching an inventor from the Industrial Revolution and creating a technological presentation of information and details on the inventor and the invention that was created.

Students will be researching topics during the Industrial Revolution and presenting information to classmates in a digital gallery walk.

Students are to newspaper, covering the Industrial Revolution and Oliver Twist. The Newspaper should include a 2 articles about the time period, 2 editorials, as well as other creative items such as pictures, obituaries, political cartoons, and advertisements.

You will assume the role of an English journalist in 1830 to create an editorial poster for the London Times that comments on whether the Industrial Revolution improved life and that suggests ways to address problems created by it. Poster must include visuals and must be in color.

Groups work together to develop a newspaper covering the Industrial Revolution including articles done individually from four students on the following five topics: 1) Find out the scoop on one of the millionaires of the 19th century. What good and bad things did they do? Write an article. 2) Write an article on one of the inventions of the Industrial Age? How did it work? What changes came about as a result? 3) Pretend you are a worker in a factory. Describe your day and compare/contrast that to your average day. 4) Write an article about the unions during the Industrial Revolution and compare/contrast that to what you discover about today's unions. Include information from a relative about their union. 5) Write an article about the inventions since the computer was invented. Describe how they have changed our lives and compare that to the way Industrial Revolution inventions changed lives. Note: no formal presentation is required but newspapers will be shared with the class.
