The Transition Awards recognize the successful efforts of Teaching Assistants (TA), and support staff members as they supported the transition, from traditional face-to-face teaching environments to distance and online instruction and aided in reducing barriers to learning for University of Ottawa students.

The Award for Most Innovative Project in the Provision of Distance/Online Education recognizes a part-time or full-time professor’s adept ability in developing an innovative project to provide distance/online education. This project shall demonstrate agility, longevity and impact aligning with core pillars of uOttawa’s Transformation 2030 strategic plan to enrich student learning and the quality of program offerings.

The Leadership Award recognizes a part-time or full-time faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and commitment in responding to the transition to distance and online education.

Basic rubric for an introductory argumentative paper on any topic. No research required but may be included if paper is based on an article. Look for the beginnings of a thesis, choosing a side and sticking with it, ability to persuade, and distinct paragraphs with supporting points. No rebuttal. Special attention paid to developing academic writing: Eliminating cliches, improving grammar, increasing vocabulary, including specific details.

Présentation orale de groupe (HSS2516)

Les élèves doivent présenter le scénario de l'interrogatoire et de l'arrestation de l’enquête policière en groupe de cinq. Chaque groupe doit préparer une présentation orale ou une saynète en démontrant leur compréhension de l’enquête policière.

Sont évalués: contenu (60%), communication orale (30%), outils de présentation (10%)

Working in assigned groups, students will work collaboratively on a presentation to the lass based on an assigned section or one of their choice that has been approved by the teacher. Each group presentation shall include a worksheet and quiz that will be prepared by the group illustrating the group's particular topic.

This is a five member Education Group Presentation. The Presentation will reflect individual and collective knowledge of best practices and developmentally appropriate models in five specific areas.

Working in assigned groups, students will work collaboratively on a presentation to the class based on an assigned section of Unit 2. Each group will prepare a presentation to the class on their topic. Each group presentation shall include a quiz and worksheet prepared by the group illustrating the group’s particular topic.

This will be used to evaluate each group’s presentation. Students can look at this rubric so they may understand what they are being graded on. The Group Presentation Rubric will be combined with the Evaluation Rubric to determine your final grade for the project.

The Presentation Team must present their research, as a group to the class. Each member of the group must speak. You will earn a grade that reflects the accuracy and detail of your research, and the quality of the presentation of your findings. Each student on the group will earn a group collaboration grade. The group collaboration grade will be based on how effectively you perform your role as a member of the group.
