Spoon River Anthology Brochure Rubric

OBJECTIVE: To create a memorial brochure for one of the subjects from one of the poems from Edgar Lee Masters’ collection of poetry, Spoon River Anthology. Included in the brochure is a Bio-Poem that demonstrates close reading of the poem and knowledge of the time period to provide many details about the person that may have had an impact on his or her life. In addition, the Bio-Poem contains some of the poetic terms studied in this unit. Each Bio-Poem must contain examples of at least three (3) of the following: *alliteration or assonance *simile or metaphor *rhyme or repetition *irony or allusion *evidence of a strong personal relationship
