Powerpoint presentation

Students will choose their favorite author and research him or her. They will then put together a oral presentation, including a visual aid. The visual aid can be a display board, collage or poster. In the presentation they must include a short bibliography, a list of the author's work and any awards they have recieved. The student must also include why that author is their favorite.

Creative / Descriptive Writing focusing on the traits of idea, organization, voice, word choice and conventions.

Students will create an ABC book using vocabulary from our unit on energy.

Create an ABC Book of the events and issues that led to the Civil War, include people, places, and events that interest you.

Students will create a PP presentation that will provide a detailed, insightful look at the contributions of a Georgia author to literature. Students will select relevant facts about the author's life and the works he/she wrote to create a visual slide show that details how the author's writings distinguishes him/her as a Georgia author. EX: quotes that correspond, graphics that enhance presentation--all work together to show relationship of Georgia author to literature as a whole

You are the host of a Sunday morning news program. The Maribel sisters' publicist (In the Time of the Butterflies) has just contacted you and made you aware of the availability of one of the sisters to be interviewed for your program. You will be able to interview one of the sisters for approximately twenty minutes. Your assignment will be to prepare a series of questions and anwers that will reveal the theme and personality nuances of the character you have chosen to interview.
