Students will create an infographic about a country in Latin or Central America. Nine elements that must be included: flag, capital, landforms/physical features, religious and/or ethnic groups, government, economics, currency, population, and environmental and/or humanitarian issues. At least 2 additional elements must be included: climate, infant mortality, life expectancy, birth rate, or animals found in the area.

Students will research information on their chosen Asian country and present it to the class. Students are expected to have visual aids as well as a written report or neatly written/typed presentation cards to turn in.

Out of 50 Points - Become the class expert on the cultural geography of your country and create a thoughtful and concise project.

Create a newspaper about the book, set in the same city as the book’s main setting. Use front sides only that include informational text and important photos reflecting historical stories, cultural issues, and social issues appropriate to the novel. You must include at least 7 subject areas as part of a newspaper: social events, book review, business news, advertisements, weather, news stories, feature stories, letters to the editor, obituaries, editorials, sports, etc.

You are to create a brochure based on your chosen novel. This brochure should be creative and written to describe important places in your novel. Your brochure must include the items listed below.

Summarize the plot in a tabloid paper format.

Design a magazine including the cover for your chosen novel as if you were trying to appeal to adolescents/ or parents. Your choice! Your magazine cover should include, a cover photo, a background (if the cover photo does not have a background already), title, minimum of four story line titles that are centered around the novel including a feature article, book review, interview and 1 other article of your choosing. You should include a graphic for each story line. Creativity is important!

Create a model of a mountain from chosen country and in a write up, include many important facts about the mountain. Facts should include: highest point, description, location, recreation etc. Your model should be neat and creative.

Construct a realistic and accurate representation of an artifact. Written explanation about the piece must be included.

Students will research a career, create and design an artifact (infographic, Sway or Christmas ornament) that represents that career. Required information per instructions must be included.

You will select a building from history and build a model of it using materials of your choice (cardboard, popsicle sticks, paper, etc.) The types of buildings can be religious (temples, mosques, churches, synagogues, stupas, etc.) political, or any approved by instructor. In addition to building the model, you will also write a paper explaining the history of the particular building you have chosen.

Create a model of a volcano within your country with specific locations, type of magma, type of eruptions, how it is formed, and the effects of that type of volcanic eruption.
