Le carnaval

Le patrimoine francophone
You are participating in the Patrimoine francophone at Louis-Riel. At your booth, you will showcase one of the francophone countries listed on Jour 2, different than the four that were studied in this section. You will present recipes and food samples from your chosen country, and provide a cultural aspect that will include facts on its people, language(s), religion(s), way of life, staple foods, important celebrations as well as interesting facts about eating habits.

Un menu sain
You are a student at a boarding school. As a part time job, you have been hired to work in the school cafeteria. Your first assignment is to plan the menu for the following week. Being a boarding school, the cafeteria serves three meals a day as well as snacks. Review how many portions, from each food group, students your age should eat everyday in “Mon guide alimentaire”. Use this information to help you fill in the chart. Next, pick one day from your menu, and complete a liste d’épicerie. Finally, Mme Dennis questions your choices for the menu. Write ten sentences to explain why your choices are healthy. Use the valeur nutritive or les ingrédients to help you.

Fashion Show Review for School Newspaper
The school fashion show was a hit! Your school newspaper wants you to write a review for the next issue. There is room to include two pictures and write-ups. You may use two outfits you tried on at the mall on Jour 6 or any other pictures of your choice. Put together your newspaper layout. Then write a detailed description of your outfits.

Zoo Brochure
Your father is a biologist and head of the committee that has been trying to bring a new zoo to your city/town. He just received the good news that they now have the funding for the zoo and must start the planning. Your father and the committee feel that it is important to advertise the coming of the new zoo. They wish to create a brochure. Your father mentioned your skills in design to the committee and they have hired you to put together the brochure.
