You will create an Book of Memories writing portfolio. Your portfolio will include written elements (see below) and artistic components. For the artistic component, you will create a cover for your portfolio. You may make a collage for the front of your portfolio (I suggest using a small binder or folder). You may draw on the front, or you may in any other way express yourself artistically. You should also include artistic elements for each of your writing entries.

Write a news article about a school event for a student newspaper. Write a headline and a by line. Begin with a strong lead. Answer the questions who, what, when, why (or how), and where in your article.

Create a newsletter using Microsoft Word. Make sure to follow directions and use all of the features you learned to create an attractive multi-column newsletter.

Students will write, perform, and video a skit designed to demonstrate their knowlegde of literature concepts (plot, conflict, dialogue) and literary devices (alliteration, rhyme, hyperbole, metaphor, simile, etc.)

Students will create a "book" which explains and illustrates 25 gardening terms. Terms will be put in alphabetical order, numbered, and defined with grammatical accuracy while using a literary device to further explain.
