Education

Education If a man empties his purse into his head, no one can take it from him. Benjamin Franklin I have many of the same motives as other adults for being a life-long learner. I did not have the opportunity to go to college right after high school, however in the late stages of my early adulthood; I enrolled in college and completed two Associates degrees. I then completed work on a Bachelor degree while raising a family and working full-time. Upon graduation, I hadn’t really thought of pursuing a Masters degree, but eventually I did it for several reasons. The foremost reason was the fact that I wanted to “master” the teaching and learning process as an art and a career. I wanted to understand what makes students tick and why. I wanted to answer the question that started to burn in my consciousness, “How could instructors design instruction so that it was interesting, rigorous, and encouraged students to make permanent changes in their lives?” Each day I continue to pursue the answer to that question.
