Ability

Ability The following documents have been chosen to display my ability to design online learning, present instructional materials, and communicate to a variety of audiences. This area highlights three sections of materials: online course development, instructional content, and communications documents. All of the materials in this section were solely developed by me. The first section contains screen shots of and objects located in selected online courses I developed using WebCT. The first two courses, College Success Strategies Online and Respiratory Pharmacology, are geared toward students, while the other three, WebCT 101, 201 and 301 are geared toward training faculty to use WebCT. The second section includes instructional handouts and presentations that I use in actual training sessions. They provide good examples of my skill in developing clear, concise, and readable materials for faculty, students, and staff. The last section of this category includes documents that reflect my ability to communicate with others. All of the technical manuals and guides were developed by me and display an ability to communicate technical procedures to a non-technical audience. Many faculty and staff feel this is one of my greatest abilities. Finally, I chose three academic documents which are not manuals that I have had a hand in writing. Both job descriptions were developed by me for employees reporting to me. I used standard templates to structure the language; however, I developed the actual wording of the specifics based on the desired job performances. Both were developed from “scratch”. The Focus on Teaching and Learning document was collected, compiled, and, in some cases written by me. There were, however, some faculty contributors to the publication who are clearly credited. I compiled the entries into a Word document which was sent to our Graphics department for printing. They did provide some professional design and formatting expertise to the document before it was printed
