Activity 5

This activity should be completed within 1 week.

Fractured Fairytales Quick Task...

"Once upon a time...." (Narrator)

"Wo, wo, hold it!" (Audience member)

"Ar, pardon? " (Narrator)

"Yeah you!" (Audience member)

"Can I help you?" (Narrator)

"Yeah, you can actually. I'm SO tired of these stories that start with once upon a time, it's so boring! Can't you start some other way?" (Audience member)

"Well, uh..., I suppose so, if the author had written it differently, but unfortunatly this is what is here in this book and that is what a narrator, that's me, reads to the audience..." (Narrator)

"Oh... well, how do I speak with this author?" (Audience member)

"Actually, I do believe they are reading this conversation now- how about you tell them what you want?" (Narrator)

"Oh great, I will thanks!" (Audience Member)

"My pleasure, good luck!" (Narrator)

"Ok, listen here mister or miss author, this is what I want you to do!

Firtsly, enough with this 'Once upon a time' rubbish and 'Happily Ever After', I'm so over it, it's been done to death.

What I want you to do is come up with something different.

Think of a fairytale that you know really well, maybe something you have read recently and change the beginning and the end paragraphs.

And I mean change it- make it interesting, creative, capture my attention. Think outside the square and come up with a new title

and a fun way to end the tale.

Do YOU think you can do that?

Well then smarty pants get on with it and make sure you type it up so that the narrator has something NEW to read!

GOOD LUCK!"

Keep all drafts and final copies in your Task Folder.

Remember to consider how you present your final piece of writing, spelling correct, grammer and punctuation needs to be checked.
