1. Introduction & Task

 

Did you know that if we do not recycle, reduce and reuse we will not have any clean space left in our world. As of 2001 studies reported to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency that each person creates 4.4 pounds of trash per day.

  Let's pretend that you have been hired by the city council to come up with new ideas for your town to recycle, reduce and reuse.  At the end of your quest you will write suggestions to present to the city council. This assignment is set up for you to find out what would be the better way to save our environment.

 

 

 

Task

You and two of your classmates are in charge of improving the recycling program in your town.

The group will need to:

  1. find out if there are established programs in your town
  2. gather information on different or possibly better recycling methods for your town
  3. find out if they would be cost effective
  4. would it be possible to set them up in your town, if so how would you do so
  5. offer some suggestions on how to reuse some materials in homes, private organizations or schools.
  6. present the information to the class, include all the information that you have found in a creative and organized way. 
  7. write your ideas to suggest to the city council.
  8.  Reference the rubric under evaluation to check your work.
