Grades/Rules Expectations

Grades in theatre classes are earned through points based on:

    *Performance assignments

    *Written assignments

    *Exams

     *Classroom participation in a positive and willing manner

     *Improvement and involvement

Some basic expectations/requirements in theatre classes include:

    *Be on time to class, ready to work when the bell rings

    *Have all your material with you (notebook, pen/pencil, papaer, script, etc.)

    *Show a positive appreciation of what your fellow actor is doing

    *Raise your hand to be recognized before speaking

    *Follow all direction the first time they are given

    *No food, drink, candy or gum is allowed in the classroom or on stage at any time

    *Return all props/furniture/costumes to their correct place

    *Return play scripts within two weeks from checkout date, unless approved for a longer period

         of time (Lost play scripts must be paid for)

    *Follow School rules and guidlines at all times:  Truthfullness    Active Listening    Trustworthiness

                                                                         No Put Downs   Personal Best

Be aware of the attendance policy in your student handbook.  Remember, in order to participate in a rehearsal or performance you must attend school that day.

Be aware of eligibility requirements to participate in theatre activities.

     It is expected that all performance and written assignments will be presented or completed on time (the due date). Thee will be a 10% deduction daily for any written assignment that is turned in late.  All assignments, even then, must be written or performed as completely as possible.  After three class days I will no longer accept the assignment, and you will reveive a "0" with no opportunity to make it up.

     Any written assignment may be rewritten for a higher grade when it it turned in on time, and if rewritten within three class days from when it was returned to you.  Some performance assignments also may be redone for a higher grade. Some exams may be taken for a higher grades, and the grades will be averaged together. Anyone receiving below a "C" on an exam MUST retake the test.

     You may expect some homework in this class, though generally rehearsals wil be done during class time.  Memorization of scenes, some evaluations and reports will most probably be done outside of class as homework.
