Journal Entry Rubric Journal Entry Rubric Journal entries MUST be at least 2 paragraphs. Everyone feels guilty about something at some time in his or her life. Describe a time when you felt guilty. Average - Content is inconsistent with regard to purpose and clarity of thought.<BR> <BR> -Date is inconsistently/ incorrectly written.	Excellent - Content and purpose of the writing are clear.<BR> <BR> -Date is correctly written at the top right hand corner of every page.
Format/Grammar	Weak - Paper contains numerous grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors.<BR> <BR> - Paragraph is inadequate/excessive in length.	Average - Paragraph contains few grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors.<BR> <BR> - Paragraph is slightly over/ under sentence length.	Excellent - Rules of grammar, usage, and punctuation are followed; spelling is correct.<BR> <BR> - Paragraph is 5-7 complete sentences. No more than 7. No fewer than 5.
Use of Time	Weak Less than 3 sentences. Student was off task.	Average Incomplete entry. Fewer than one Paragraph. Student was partially on task.	Excellent At least 2 paragraphs. All questions have been answered. Student used class time well.
