To write a creative story and develop an awareness of the characteristics required to engage a reader's interest in a narrative piece of work.

Students are to design an experiment which can be conducted in the classroom about fungi. Projects must include a problem, hypothesis, research, step by step experiment instructions and a method to display data. Students state their conclusion explaining if the experiment supported their hypothesis. Students also discuss what this experiment might lead them to research next. All information must be presented in a PowerPoint.

Students will research, plan, and compose a speech in which their performance will be evaluated in terms of specific standards set in class, including the clarity and completeness of your speech and the quality of your presentation in explaining your topic matter. Non-verbal communication is highlighted. Students will have 1.5 to 2 minutes to deliver the speech.

For the past two weeks, we have been looking at earthquakes: how they occur, what they are etc. For this project you will be creating an information poster focussing on one of the world’s biggest volcanoes. You are not making a general earthquake poster; it should be specific to ONE earthquake.

Complete a research project on a scientfic discovery or invention and how it has changed over time and its impact on people's lives. You may present this in any way.

Trig Assessment

In this task you will explore gradient in the real world. After selecting a real life option to investigate you will need to determine the gradient and complete a team poster to submit at the conclusion of the class which aligns with the rubric.

Create a visual display for a Year 6 classroom, to teach Year 6 students about geometric concepts. You may present this in any visual form you would like.
