EXL Program Reflection

The Experiential Learning Program at Middle Tennessee State University has made it possible for me to work with the community in a "hands-on" environment. I have been able to see all of the theories that I have learned in class, come to life. I have loved being a part of the Experiential Learning Program at Middle Tennessee State University because I am confidently entering the workforce with not only the head-knowledge, but the heart-knowledge as well. I have been able to experience so much thanks to this program: Internships in Myrtle Beach, SC and New York City, Planning events for the VSA at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, Organizing Dream Weddings, Partnering with St. Judes Childrens' Hospital with the Pink Raider Knitting Brigade, and so much more. The hardest part about putting this portfolio together was trying to consolidate all of my experiences into one website. The skills that I have learned from this program could not have been fully-grasped from a dry-erase board, lecture, or power-point presentation. The skills I have learned could have only been fully-grasped through experiencing them. I am ready to take on whatever comes my way! Thanks to EXL courses at MTSU.
