Prostate Cancer Awareness.

Reflections

Reflections By Ramon: Exploring the various aspects of leadership has been a wonderful experience throughout this semester. I have discovered along the way that I possess the ability to be a great leader. For example, I have learned that commitment is the main ingredient to becoming a successful leader. I walked into this semester with the burden of feeling overwhelmed. However, I strategically developed a plan to achieve my ultimate goal. The biggest challenge throughout this semester was completing the electronic requirements for the practicum. I felt as if time was not on my side. Upon meeting with my group members, my stress was relieved as we established individual roles. My individual role allowed me to discover that I can bring about significant change. I was able to express and implement views that revealed my maturation as a person. I am grateful for this experience, in which I will value for a lifetime.

Reflections by Shalada Blackshear :  When I first started this class, I really felt as if I had no leadership skills at all. As the course progressed, I learned the different styles of leadership and the ingredients that it takes to become a good leader.  By being in health profession I believe that it is everyone responsibility to be a leader and set forth good examples for future health professional.  When I started this practicum, I learned that everyone being involved made it run very smoothly.  I do believe that everyone in my group became to know what it takes become a leader because we kept each other motivated and everything a positive note with no disagreements.  I've enjoyed the experience of finding out what a true leader is.

Reflections by Richard Randolph: During this project I was able to apply my leadership skills. I have come away from this project feeling that I have made a difference. I feel that because of our efforts, our community is now more aware of the dangers of prostate cancer. We have transcended all stereotypes and hopefully produced a great result. I am proud to be part of such a great group that cares so much for the people of our community. Great leaders are made by their compassion and their drive to help. I know our part was small, but if one man catches his cancer early because of us, then that is a great outcome. From this project I have found that when a group comes together for a common goal of a healthy community, no obstacles can stand in their way.
