About me!

I first discovered teaching while I was completing my Master's thesis in New York. After completing an internship at the United Nations, I found a part-time position with the Diocese of Newark for employment as a substitute teacher. I served at both Marist High School in Bayonne, NJ and Our Lady of Libera in West New York, NJ; both of which were in tough neighborhoods, catering primarily to lower-income families.

I found that I fit in well with the faculty and the students respected me as a teacher. Working with my students is what convinced me to pursue a career in education. I loved the idea that I could spark a love for learning and make a difference in a child's life!

My husband's career took us next to Orlando, where I served as a US History teacher at technology school. I worked extensively with educational technology in the classroom.

I believe very strongly in Constructivist-style education.  I believe in using a wide array of media and experiential techniques to help keep them engaged. This includes not only the text but also, computers, movies, group projects, art and games to help the students learn. My goal is to make sure that students play an active role in their own education.
