July 1995-present: Teacher, Reche Canyon Elementary School, Colton Joint Unified School District. 
Responsible for student achievement in my classroom, including planning and implementing the curriculum, meeting with parents, and insuring the success of my students.  I have taught grades 4, 5, 6 and currently teach second grade.  In addition to classroom responsibilities, I have served as:
·         Principal’s administrative designee
·         Leader for the writing committee for the California Distinguished School application which resulted in Reche Canyon Elementary being named a California Distinguished School
·         Grade level leader for second grade and fourth grade
·         School Site Council, PTA board representative
·         Leadership team, technology board, and curriculum council member
·         Union site representative
·         Master teacher for a student teacher
·         Mentor for new teachers
 
June 1989-July 1992: Teacher/Assistant Director, City of Redlands Pre-school and Infant care program.
Worked with the California Department of Licensing to create a licensed, full day pre-school and infant care program.  Supervised a staff of 12 child-care providers. Responsibilities included: teaching part-time, registering children, receiving payments and parent relations.
 
June 1979-November 1985: Receptionist/data entry/bookkeeper for Morgan, Martindale and Company.
 
Education:
  • 2005 – Completed requirements for preliminary administrative credential from the University of Redlands
  • 2001- Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Redlands.
  • 1994- Multiple subject teaching credential from the University of Redlands.
  • 1989- BS in Psychology from CSU San Bernardino.
 
Other training:
  • Aspiring Administrators Program offered by Colton Joint Unified School District
  • Trainings in early literacy and the Houghton-Mifflin language arts series.
  • Training in the PeaceBuilders program to level 3.
  • Attended workshops on implementing math in the classroom taught by Marcy Cook, classroom discipline, children’s literature and teaching colonial life in the classroom.  I have brought this information back to my site and shared the information with the teachers I work with.
