College 105

College 105 is a course which helps to give students better ways to study and prepare for their years at college. In this course our instructor gives us knowledge and examples on how to effectively do our best in college. In this class we all share real life experiences, and are honest in how we are doing. Constructive criticism is also provided to keep everyone on track so we can do our best. Everything is tied in together to help us prepare for the future.

While attending Tri-County Technical College one event that I attended was a plagiarism workshop. In this workshop I learned about the dangers of plagiarism and how it can happen. I was walked through it step by step and was given examples. It really helped me to realize what plagiarism really is.

I learned from this workshop that I might accidentally be plagiarizing in some of my work. I also learned though that there are ways that I can ensure that I am not plagiarizing. It also helped me see what steps I can take to do everything I can to not steal someone else’s work. I will definitely use these skills in the future.

Another event I attended at Tri-County Technical College is a diversity workshop. At this diversity workshop everyone learned the differences and the similarities between types of people. Everyone was on an equal standing and we all found out that we all have things that are the same about each other. It was interesting and a great experience to learn about my peers.

At this workshop I learned how bad it is to stereotype and judge people. I also learned I might be doing that even though I do not mean to. I also learned that I am very similar to the people around me even though I may assume I am different from them by seeing the external. I also learned that it is ok to be different and not normal. This was a good experience to see how people can all be equal and get along.
