Create Your Own Rhythmic Activity Create Your Own Jazz Dance Students in groups of 3-5 will create their own rhythmic activity that they will teach to elementary/primary school students. Must be: 200 counts minimum, direction and level change, beginning/middle/end, accurate. A video must accompany each presentation that includes everyone in the group. 1. Clothing- do you look ready to be active? 2. Is there a step-by-step guide in the video? 3. Target Audience- age appropriate? 4. Student Engagement 4 pts	Poor Work reflects very little effort on the part of this student. Student enthusiasm is low. Very little effort/ time spent preparing for the performance.	Fair Work reflects okay effort from this student. The student shows some interest for their work.Minimal time/ effort spent preparing for the performance.	Good Work reflects a good effort from the student. The student is generally enthusiastic. The student put a sufficient amount of time/ effort into preparing for the performance.	Excellent Work reflects the strong efforts of the student. The student is enthusiastic and positive. The student used their time effectively. The student gave 100% effort preparing for the performance.
Creativity 4 pts	Poor Student repeats dances taught in class. No attempt to create anything new.	Fair Student attempts to create something new, but simply rearranges taught patterns.	Good Student attempts and succeeds at creating something new. Student uses dance styles from class in new original ways.	Excellent Student creates a successful, dynamic new routine with creative combinations.
Technical skills 4 pts	Poor Although remembers some of dance, little attention paid to how movements are done or other details of dance.	Fair Only some understanding of technical elements (ie. footwork, quality of movements, body positions) demonstrated in performance.	Good Dance performed with attention to most details of technique, but hasn't attained proficiency in dance style yet.	Excellent Dance performed with great attention to quality of movement, body position, placement on stage and other details of dance. Also demonstrates an excellent understanding of dance style.
