Shading and Shape Include a range of 4-7 values that describe the three-dimensional forms. The contours of the forms are accurately rendered through use of value, shading techniques and/or contour line.	Below Basic BELOW BASIC<BR> Few of the objects are shaded and most of the objects do no reflect the actual contours of the objects.	Basic BASIC<BR> Objects are shaded and most of the objects reflect actual contour of objects. Evidence of 5-6 values.	Proficient PROFICIENT <BR> Highlights reflect actual highlights from shading, and all of the objects reflect actual contours. Evidence of 6-8 values.	Advanced ADVANCED <BR> Varied value range of darks, highlights, and mid tones, and all of the objects reflect the actual contour (shape). Uses shading to create edges and lines (vs. drawing them) – use eraser as a drawing tool both to create highlights, shapes, lines and, atmospheric perspective/spatial awareness.
Craftsmanship The work is well crafted.	Below Basic BELOW BASIC<BR> The amount of stray marks, smudges, or paper imperfections detracts from the overall apperance of the lettering.	Basic BASIC<BR> A few stray marks or smudges are evident but do not greatly detract from the overall appearance of the lettering.	Proficient PROFICIENT<BR> Presentation of the work is clean and neat with no stray marks, smudges, wrinkles or curled edges of paper.	Advanced ADVANCED<BR> Presentation of the work is exemplary.
Time/Effort Student is engaged with the project, listens during instruction, asks for help when needed, and spends class time consistently working.	Below Basic BELOW BASIC<BR> Class time was not used wisely. Student had to be re-directed multiple times. Student worked on other work, put head down or spent time talking or otherwise off task. Little work completed	Basic BASIC<BR> Student was usually engaged with instruction and spent most time in class working on task.	Proficient PROFICIENT<BR> Student was engaged during instruction, listened well, stayed on task and completed all work.	Advanced ADVANCED<BR> Student was highly engaged with instruction, asked questions, gave and sought feedback, worked through multiple drafts or revisions and completed all work.
