Women's History Month Biography Women's History Month Biography The students have interviewed women who embody a commitment to moving women's rights forward in the 21st century. Their final project will consist of a biography that should include information on the person's early life, what led her to her chosen career or purpose, what contributions she made to society, any interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and her contributions have on modern times. Information/Content	Above Grade Level -covers all of factual requirements -includes all pertinent details in own wording -effectively describes impact that this figure had on history	At Grade Level -covers most of factual requirements -includes important facts & applicable details -adequately describes impact of figure on history	Approaching Grade Level -covers only some of factual requirements -some simple details -minimal description of figure's impact on history	Below Grade Level -covers little/none of factual requirements -most details are limited -no description of figure's impact on history
Organization	Above Grade Level -created a well-organized biography, reflecting a sophisticated writing style -appropriate use of paraphrasing	At Grade Level -well-organized with appropriate style/tone -generally uses appropriate paragraph format -variety of sentences -paraphrasing applied appropriately but not extensively	Approaching Grade Level -simple style with limited organizational pattern -some variety in sentence length and structure -most passages are paraphrased	Below Grade Level -simple format (lists, outlines) or may not be written out in paragraph format -lacks logical flow or rational progression -simple/compound sentence structure
