Acceptable

The scene is clearly set in the introduction but either lacks detail or extensive use of exciting vocabulary.
Mastery

An explicit and descriptive setting has been included in the introduction using exciting vocabulary.
Volume

Beginning

Student cannot be heard and makes no attempt to speak up.
Acceptable

Volume is not always loud enough. Student can sometimes not be heard.
Mastery

Student speaks loudly enough to be heard easily throughout the presentation.
Fluency and Expression

Beginning

Student is unable to speak through the dialogue confidently. Not enough time was spent in preparation. There is a lack of expression throughout the skit.
Acceptable

Student is quite fluent but may speak with few hesitations. The student is expressive but this may not always be consistent in delivery.
Mastery

Student was very well prepared for the skit not hesitating at all and using expression to deliver an outstanding performance.
Dialogue Content

Beginning

Content lacked originality or enthusiasm. The dialogue was extremely flat.
Acceptable

Content is sound and pleasing to listen to but may take too long to get to the point or lacks some detail.
Mastery

Content shows creativity and is a pleasure to follow. The dialogue keeps the audience focussed.
