Student followed all directions using a creative and thoughtful approach. When confused, student re-read the directions on their own in order to understand the task. Student completed the assignments and was not a distraction to other students working around him/her.

Student completely followed all directions. When confused, student asked teacher for help in understanding the task. Student completed the assignments, but needed occasional redirection from the teacher.

Student completed the assignments, but needed frequent redirection from the teacher. Student did not consistently read the directions in order to understand the task.

Student was unable to follow directions due to being off task or unwillingness to work. Even when redirected, student did not read the directions.

Prepared to start class when bell rang or break was over, fantastic binder, payed attention to instructor when instructor was speaking; no headphones/earbuds while instructor was speaking, gave eye contact to instructor. In addition, student was in class every day. If student was absent, student notified instructor via Rcampus email, or student gave prior notification to instructor.
Mastery

Usually prepared to start class when bell rang or break was over, without being reminded by instructor; binder was in good order; usually payed attention to instructor when instructor was speaking; no headphones/earbuds while instructor was speaking, usually gave eye contact to instructor. In addition, student was in class every day, or turned in a valid excuse the day after returning to school after an excused absence, per the Student Handbook.

Often unprepared to start class when bell rang or break was over; needed occasional reminders by instructor to start classwork promptly after breaks were over; binder was disorganized; occasionally distracted when instructor was speaking; sometimes had headphones/earbuds on while instructor was speaking, often failed to give eye contact to instructor.
