Rubric Criteria
	Outstanding 4 pts	Satisfactory 3 pts	Needs Improvement 2 pts	Unsatisfactory 1 pts
Response	Outstanding The answer is complete. All information provided is accurate. The answer demonstrates a deep understanding of the content. Writing is well organized, cohesive, and easy to read.	Satisfactory The answer is missing slight details. All information provided is accurate. The answer demonstrates understanding of the content. Writing is well organized, cohesive, and easy to read.	Needs Improvement The answer does not address a portion of the question, or major details are missing. Almost all information provided is accurate. The answer demonstrates basic understanding of the content. Writing is organized, cohesive, and easy to read	Unsatisfactory The answer to the question is lacking any detail. The answer demonstrates a lack of understanding of the content.
Paragraph and support	Outstanding Paragraph has four or more complete supporting detail sentences that relate back to the main idea. All statements are accurate.	Satisfactory Paragraph has three or more complete supporting detail sentences. They relate back to the main idea. Some statements are inaccurate.	Needs Improvement Paragraph has only two complete supporting detail sentences. Statements are inaccurate.	Unsatisfactory Answer is not a paragraph or is actually multiple sentence fragments offered as sentences.
Mechanics and Grammar	Outstanding Paragraph has no errors in punctuation, grammar, capitalization, and spelling.
