Choice of Subject Matter	Poor Choice of subject matter does not show interest or personal content and does not provide visual interest through variation or number of objects	Fair Student choice of subject matter was ok, did not give much personal content to drawing but offers visual interest in shapes sizes and number of objects or choice was unique but could have shown greater visual variation and interest	Good Choice of subject matter was unique to student and added personal content to the drawing. Subject matter offers variation and interest in shapes, sizes and number of objects.
Line Quality	Poor No care or very little care was given to application of line or sensitivity of response to the objects in the still life. Line was sloppy or quickly sketched in.	Fair Line was sometimes drawn with sensitivity and variation but was not consistantly interesting or was impatiently applied in some areas	Good Sensitivity of line was used to describe variation of objects, surfaces and shapes. Variation in pressure and feel of line was used to show changes throughout drawing.
Composition/ Design	Poor No thought has been given to the arrangement of objects. The composition is uninteresting and objects do not acheive depth or create interesting space.	Fair Some thought was given to the arrangement of objects but the composition is somewhat imbalanced or does not acheive sufficient depth or variation	Good Thought was given to the arrangement of objects in order to achieve balance and variety and to create depth through overlapping.
Craftsmanship/ Finish	Poor Media is used sloppily or incorrectly, drawing is unfinished or appears messy and needs attention. Presentation has not been considered.	Fair Media is used fairly well but could be improved or cleaned up. Some areas of the drawing may need further attention and ver little consideration has been given to presentation or alternatives.	Good Media is used carefully and skillfully, paper is chosen for its size and quality and the drawing is completely finished. Consideration has been given to presentation and alternatives such as cropping.
