Landscape- 3rd and 4th Grade Landscape- 3rd and 4th Grade Third and fourth grade students draw a landscape from their imagination including at least 1 tree and water. Add details with foreground, middle ground, and background, color with colored pencils and crayons. Following Directions	Exceeding Thorough understanding of directions. Artwork contains exceptional landscape with fore ground, middle ground, and back ground with water and 1 or more trees.	Accomplished Understands most of the directions. Artwork contains essential details for landscape with a foreground and background including water and 1 tree.	Developing Partially understands directions. Artwork incomplete or inconsistent for a landscape. There is no water and/or no tree and only a foreground.	Emerging Lacking understanding of directions. Artwork is not recognizable of a landscape with water and a tree.
Use of Art Elements	Exceeding Extensive use of art elements (line, shape, color, texture, value, and space),at least 5 of them.	Accomplished Basic use of some art elements, at least 3 of them.	Developing Partial use of a few art elements, at least 2 of them	Emerging Minimal use of art elements, at least 1 of them.
Use of Design Principles	Exceeding Extensive use of principles of design (balance, contrast, repetition, emphasis, rhythm, and unity), at least 5 of them. Effort and Craftsmanship	Exceeding Outstanding effort with high level of craftsmanship. Drawing and coloring are beautifully completed displaying a personal style.	Accomplished Average effort with good craftsmanship. Drawing and coloring work well together.	Developing Some effort with minimal craftsmanship. Drawing and coloring are developing.	Emerging Insufficient effort lacking in craftsmanship with no attempt to compete drawing and coloring.
