CityScape in Charcoal
Students will work with vine charcoal, compressed charcoal to complete a cityscape. The goal is to utilize highlights, midtowns and shadows to achieve the illusion of form on a two-dimensional surface. Perspective will also be addressed.

The student put forth the effort required to complete the project well; used class time well.

The student put forth the effort required to finish the project; used some class time adequately.

The student put forth little effort required to finish the project; class time was not used well.
Craftsmanship
A
Great pride and care has been taken by the artist to present a neat, unmarred, and flat final composition ready for mounting.
B
Composition shows some lack of care- slightly creased or smudged.
C
Composition shows greater lack of care- multiple creases or crumpled, smudges, etc.
D
Composition shows signs of neglect that demonstrate the artist's lack of pride in the work.
