Philsophy of education

Philosophy of teaching statement

When I wake up everyday I feel a sense of accomplishment. I feel that way because I am becoming a teacher. I love the feeling when I teach a child something and they fall in love with it. When you teach a child something they will take that information and run wild with it. Elementary education is the building block for all education. Something that a student learns when they are young is with them forever. This is where they either fallin love with school or they become to hate it and I want to be that teacher that changes a students life and makes them love school. Teachers actually learn from the students.

I teach by doing group activites and you doing things that use more than one of the senses. Sometimes I do one on one things with the kids because I think that way I can accomadate for all different learning styles. When I teach sounds we sing songs as a group. And then I take a student one by one and I have a card with a letter on it. I have the student day the letter, say the sound then say the letter again one more time. Then once we go over the sounds we are learing for the week we then use the sounds in a sentence. Then I have a picture that they need to color and spell out. Like I would have a pic of a sun with three blanks on it they would color it then in the blanks write sun. Also I would work one on one with the students. Each student is at a different level, so thinking one activity is good enough is out of the question.

I would teach this way because from experience doing things one on one is very difficult when you have many students. So that’s why I would do things with the whole class but then individually I would have them read to me.
