In pairs, students will create their own political party. It will reflect their political beliefs on several issues. The presentation will culminate in a rhetorical speech meant to persuade the audience to believe in the new party. Character Board for Freak the Might

Persuasive writing piece for the Freak the Mighty novel study.

Students are to complete a weekly current events, historical report of novel report using the following scale as part of their Social Studies Current Event/Special Interest Report.

Purpose: In order to more successfully contribute to community and society at large, you should be current on Canadian issues, controversies and events. Being an informed citizen and discussing current events will give you a better perspective on different points of view. You will examine what is happening right now in Canada and try to make connections to the past, present, future, and ourselves as Christians. Each student will complete the current events assignment individually.

This is a unit 2, chapters 9, 10, 11 culminating activity. This task uses Pearson's World Views Contact and Change text. It is a combination of a poster with collage, maps, diagrams, pictures, questions, quotes and powerpoint/slides of Mexico/Spain then or now.
