Amber D. Ashley RT(R)(CT)
My career in diagnostic imaging started in 1999 at Gannon University in Erie, PA. I earned my AS in Radiologic Science in 2001 and moved to Roseville, CA.
Since then I have had the amazing opportunity to work with a number of national staffing companies that have helped me travel the country. I have worked for facilities in Hilo, HI, Fairbanks, AK, Jacksonville, NC, Auburn, CA, Butler, PA, Woodstock, VA, and now I am at home in Pittsburgh, PA. My career has been nothing short of an adventure.
Currently I am completing my BS in Radiolgic Science from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA. It is my goal to continue learning and always seek new opportunities for advancement.
Before this project/class began I never thought of myself as a formal leader. I have always tried to lead by example, but never took the initive to start anything new. This project has been great for me because it required me to involve my co-workers in a project to better the future of CAT Scan, patient care, and healthcare as a whole. I was really suprised at how excited my co-workers were to help and how supportive they were of the project itself. Educating other healthcare professionals about CAT Scan is something that we have always talked about doing, but nothing was ever done before. This project has helped me to develop a plan for making a project happen. When you take things one step at a time, the project does not seem so overwhelming. The best part of the whole project is the sense of accomplishment it has given me. I will definitely be more proactive at being a leader and helping to make a positive impact in the future.
