Hi, everybody.

My name is Anna White or just Anya. Originally, I am from Odessa, Ukraine.

I got my first Master’s degree in Odessa National University in Ukraine. My first Master’s degree was in foreign languages and translation. I speak several foreign languages: Ukrainian, Russian, French, Arabic, and English?

I came to the United States, Baltimore in summer, 2005. My first summer in the U.S was a fabulous experience! I had a chance to travel around the country a lot and learn a lot about American history and culture. In two months after my arrival, I got my first job in the U.S. I worked as an administrative assistant in the IT company “SUBSYSTEMS” in Roslyn, VA. After two year of my employment with “SUBSYSTEMS,” I was offered to work as an interpreter in the Maryland court system. It was an amazing experience for me.

Currently, I am a graduate student at School of International Service at American University, Washington DC. It is quite a commute twice or three times per week after work, but I enjoy the program and it is a great school. I study politics and international affairs of the Middle Eastern region and I am trying top master Arabic language.

In addition, I work in the Mayor’s Office of International and Immigrant Affairs. I work with immigrant communities and service providers of Baltimore City, international delegations and help to organize ethnic festivals. By the way, this year I help our city to organize International Festival that will take place August 2-3 in Poly Western High School Complex. We will have a lot of fun international performances and vendors!
