The following rubric is a checklist for your current singing skills in order to be assessed and assigned a voice part to sing in the chorus. You will be assessed on intonation, tone and vocal range and breath support.

This rubric provides a guide for grading students in their singing performance during music class.

Prepare an interactive presentation about this artist. Introduce him/her, give a short biography. State the style of music they play, describe specific characteristics of their music. Choose a piece which made them famous and relate facts such as how long it remained on top of the charts and characteristics that made it popular. Include 2 multimedia resources to share with the class. Choose a song to teach to the class. You will present your artist to the class for an oral presentation grade.

The student will create the soundtrack that would be used if their life were a movie. They are to use at least six songs, and write a paragraph for each explaining how the song relates to their life, as well as designing the CD cover.

You will research a famous mathematicianwhich you have chosen from the list. Introduce your mathematician and give a short biography. You will then create a minimum of 10-12 song titles that tell us about your mathematician.

Musical performance grading rubrics

Objective: Students will research how musical instruments make sounds and the four basic categories of musical instruments (string, wind, brass, and percussion). Students will construct and present a homemade musical instrument from simple household objects. They will be required to play some sounds on their instrument to demonstrate different rhythms or pitches.

This rubric shows how the students will be assessed on the concepts of pitch in the first trimester of music, 2012. This assessment focuses on matching sol, mi, la pitches vocally. The content and achievement standards from the New York State and the National Standards are included.
