Develop a lesson on theme, symbols, conflict, and/or character development from the book. You must submit a plan to me stating objectives, method, materials, technology integration, and content the week before you are scheduled to teach.

Develop a lesson to enhance the most important information about your Civil War topic through an interactive, engaging presentation. You must use technology in some way, and include vocabulary. You must follow and fully complete the lesson plan format (TYPED) provided in its entirety, including lesson goals and objectives, agenda (Do Now, lesson content and/or notes, and an exit pass), materials, assessment, and lesson goals. You must also execute (teach) your lesson plan to your section on your assigned date; you are required to teach on your assigned day, there are no excuses. If your partner is absent on the day of your lesson, you are still required to teach the lesson; both partners must know your content and lesson fully in case you have to teach on your own. If you are absent, you will need to set up a time with Ms. Haushalter to make-up your teaching time.

Using magazine photos, create a collage of images that symbolize important ideas, events or themes found in the book. On a separate sheet of paper, explain what each image symbolizes and how it draws on key material from the character's experience.
