Create a scale model of some Roman architecture, art, or another piece of material culture. This is a broad group to choose from. It can be: 1) a model of an aqueduct, temple, or other engineering marvel; 2) a statue, vase, mosaic, or other 3-D art of significance; or, 3) clothing, jewelry, coin, military gear, or other object of material culture. A short written component and photo/video log will accompany the product. This must be portable in the classroom (no huge creations).

Students are to create a movie trailer, poster, and radio ad for Cyrano. The media devices should engage viewers and make the viewers WANT to read the plays. Requirements include two minutes of video, music, archetypes analysis, rhetorical devices, and some editing. Posters must be 8 1/2 by 14 minimum and have color, and the rdio ad must be 45 seconds min. Student's creations MUST be relevant to the theme, archetypes, irony, logical fallacy, plot elements, and author's choices.

Students will choose a community worker and create a poster that included information about them. They will then illustrate their community worker in their community using labels. The students will write a few sentences explaining who their community worker is, what kinds of tools they use, whether they provide goods or services and how they contribute to the community. They will then present their poster to the class.
