Welcome to Junior and Senior English, and Advanced Composition!  I am excited to be at Fulton City this year!

Here's a quick introduction-I graduated from Fulton County High School in 1996.  Yes, many years ago, but let's not worry so much about that.   I went on to Southeastern Illinois College on a basketball scholarship, and graduated with my Associate of Arts degree in 1998.  From there, I went on to Lindsey Wilson College, on a basketball scholarship.  I also ran cross country, and made it to the National Championship in both sports.  I stayed that year, and went on t0 play at Spalding University in Louisville, again on a basketball scholarship.  I was asked to run cross country there as well.  I graduated from Spalding University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature with a Minor in Writing.

I moved home when I was near to having my little girl.  She came along in August of 2001, a little over a month before September 11.  This was a major turning point in my life, and pushed me more than anything to become a teacher.  I substituted at Fulton County until December of that year, then signed a contract at Fulton City to be a Teacher's Aide, until I left in May of 2002 to move back to Louisville.

Five days after my daughter, Jaicah, turned 1, I started to earn my Master's degree, again at Spalding University in Louisville.  I finished in November of 2003, and had earned a Master of Arts in Teaching High School English, Grades 8-12.  I then substituted, as I had been to earn my living while getting my Master's, until the end of the 2003-2004 school year.

I taught and coached basketball at Valley Traditional High School from 2004-2006.  I moved in July of 2006 to Wingo, and taught at Graves County High School from 2006-2008.  Now I'm here at Fulton City High School!
