Mission
PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this student chapter is to:
- Increase enrolment of minority students in the fields of engineering, science, and mathematics at Santa Ana College;
- Promote the advancement of minority engineers, scientists, and mathematicians in employment and education;
- Improve the retention of minority students enrolled in engineering, science, and mathematics;
- Provide a forum for the exchange of information pertinent for minority engineering, science, and mathematics students enrolled at Santa Ana College;
- Develop a working network with area schools to encourage minority students to enter the engineering, science, and mathematics fields;
- Promote professional advancement for minority engineers, scientist, and mathematicians by fostering cooperation among industry, government, and the academic and professional communities to improve educational and employment opportunities; and
- Provide counseling and financial assistance to minority students in engineering, science, and mathematics.
