Riverside Community College, Dental hygiene program provide dental care for all patient: children, adolescent,  adult, and geriatrics. Patient are provided dental exam with a dentist on side, radiographs if needed, and prophylaxis as patient need. Maintain oral health is very important because if people do not take care of their teeth well, they will lose their teeth early in life. When people do not have teeth, their taste will be altered and may affect systemically as a whole. If patients have oral disease, the disease may spread to the whole body and may affect their heart which is the main organ in life. For example, one of my patient had an abcess on number 21, and my senior and I cleaned out the area and rinsed with chlorrhexidine. This is my first time seeing an abcess and providing treatment. Amazingly, my patient told me that she is no longer in pain and she is happy. I feel that I really provide the best treatment to patient under excellent guidence from my instructors. If this patient leaves untreated, her periodontal bone will be affected and end up lose her tooth. Oral is the most important part of the body and is the first part to take care of everyday.
