A Portfolio of Stephanie Melancon

Blogs

I have blogged about several topics. The following blogs display my true, unedited writing and multimedia skills.

My most popular blog was published in the summer of 2010 when I covered the 2010 FIFA World Cup. I interviewed fans at numerous bars and restaurants around Orange County, getting the Southern Californian perspective on this month-long soccer tournament in South Africa. Every post is written in third-person, article form and includes text, photographs as well as videos of my experiences, revealing the exciting atmosphere of the games.

Note: My blogging partner covered other days, so click on the label, "Stephanie Hemmens" on the right to view my posts only.

I own another blog, which is home to my documentation of a trip to South Africa I had the opportunity to take in the summer of 2009. I visited friends and family while studying abroad and doing community service work. The website is more personal than my World Cup blog and includes text, photographs, videos as well as maps.

Coverage of an array of budget travel news can be found in my other blog, which I maintained for six weeks in the fall of 2010, posting once per week. My theme was "timely traveling tips for young adults on a tight budget who are anxious to get out and explore the world." My posts include text, hyperlinks to my research, photographs and videos.

Last, but not least, I followed a beat for two months in the spring of 2010, posting at least twice per week. I wrote about "All Things Disney," sharing recent Disney-related news and events. My posts include text and hyperlinks to the Web pages I gathered my information from.
