Demonstrates flexible thinking in a manner consistent with peer group. Adult cues similar to others in the setting. Able to define what it means to be a flexible thinker and the difference between fact and opinion and then allow others to state their opinion while supporting the right of the communicative partner (without argument) to have an opinion differing from his own while listening or engaging in discussions.

Inconsistent use of coping strategies to demonstrate flexible thinking. Moderate support needed with more cues than peers in setting. Defines what it means to be a flexible thinker and difference between fact and opinion, but does not allow others their right to have a differing opinion
Does Not Meet Standards

Typically over-reacts or withdraws to change or not getting his way in a group. Needs full support of adult to use coping strategies in order to participate. Does not define flexible thinking or difference between fact and opinion, does not listen to others opinions.
