Insect Model and Report Rubric
The students will name all of the parts of an insect on a diagram. They will also be responsible for catching a live insect and naming all the parts.

Diagram Requirements
Exceeds
The student has put exceptional time and effort into identifying all parts of the insect diagram.
Fair
The diagram includes all but 1-2 of the characteristics of an insect.
Poor
The diagram is missing more than three or more characteristics of the insect.
Work quality
Exceeds
The student has put exceptional time and effort into making the diagram accurate. Student has also identified parts on live insect.
Fair
Diagram is structurally correct, but only fair effort was used. Quality is still not what the learner is capable of. Most insect parts are identified on live insect.
Poor
Work is done with little effort, quality is not what the learner is capable of. It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product. Diagram is incomplete and student cannot name parts on live insect.
Neatness
Exceeds
Project exceptionally neat. Clearly, extra effort was made to attend to details. Uses Nice writing and rulers when necessary as well as colors.
Fair
The diagram lacks neatness and clarity. Student does not use color to identify various parts of insect.
Poor
It is evident that the work was rushed and little time was spent on the final product.
