Student can define ecosystem and explain who/what is apart of this community. Student will compare and contrast the different ecosystems of rainforests and give clear examples of its importance to its inhabitants and to us.

Student can give a definition of deforestation and its causes

Student can define deforestation and be able to explain the causes and effects of it.

Student will be able to analyze the causes and effects of deforestation and brainstorm or propose solutions for it.

Seminar Participation: Evidences basic understanding of seminar procedures; offers individual thoughts. Media Tool: Advertising employs basic use of technology and focuses on a rainforest. Lacks "advocacy" component. Reflection: Partially addresses or omits some relevant material; does not connect development of rainforest knowledge to product creation; no personal connections. Writing contains multiple errors, with no revisions or responses to editing feedback.

Seminar Participation: Demonstrates understanding of seminar protocol; actively participates building on peers' comments. Media tool: Applies unit concepts in design that outlines and advocates for support of current rainforest issue. A technological tool was implemented in producing the media. Reflection: Student mostly connects their understanding to their design but lacks personal tie-ins. Reflection contains minimal to no errors and some evidence of response to peer editing.

Seminar Participation: Demonstrates clear understanding of seminar protocol, engages peers, and participates through thoughtful comments responds in ways that promotes critical thinking.
