1st Presentation

Exemplary

I prepare extremely well for the presentation by memorizing annotations of the game and stutter very little or never during the presentation. I also must sound very confident while speaking to the audience.
Proficient

I memorize the annotations but don't look the most confident. I stutter and trip over a few words but do project a somewhat confident voice.
Satisfactory

I need to use notecards during the presentation to give my analysis on the game. I don't look confident and people have to ask me more than once to talk louder.
Needs Work

I have anywhere from an extremely long pause in the presentation to a mental breakdown during it. I also just look at my notecards and don't make eye contact with the audience.
Helping Students After Presentation

Exemplary

I give all of my attention into helping students whether it is during the camp or when someone looses a game at a tournament. I sound very engaged in what they are saying and put 100% effort into trying to help them.
Proficient

I get distracted every once in a while but overall give the student ample information when working with him one on one. Even though I occasionally get distracted when I'm focused I am doing close to my best to help the student.
Satisfactory

I get distracted frequently and that impacts the overall accuracy and amount of information I give to him/her. Therefore I don't give 100% effort into helping the student.
Needs Work

I leave in the middle of helping a student which makes the student wait for a little bit and then leave and try to ask someone else for their analysis. Therefore, I essentially gave close to no effort and attention into helping the student.
Analyzing Students Preformances

Exemplary

I make sure to check their performances in tournaments at least twice a month and record their data on how well they are doing and if they are continuing to go to tournaments.
Proficient

I check 3 times every 2 months after the presentation and record data after each time I check. Because of the extensive time between me checking the students occurrences at tournaments, this could impact the overall accuracy of the data, though not by much.
Satisfactory

I check to see how the students are doing once every month. This should cause some inaccuracy in the data but won't make my results detrimental.
Needs Work

I only check on how the students are doing about once every 2 months or less. This does not give me enough data to go off of throughout the project and won't give me a clear result on how I did.
Amount of time I spend helping out.

Exemplary

Any chess event I can possibly help out at I go to. I go to at least 5 different events throughout the time given throughout the personal project.
Proficient

I go to 3-4 events throughout the given time frame for the personal project. I don't put full effort into helping out but the majority of the time I do go to help out.
Satisfactory

I go to 2 events. This is not enough for the given time frame. With plenty of opportunities to help out, I don't take advantage of most of them. Thus, the lack of effort can be seen.
Needs Work

I end up only going to the one event where I have the whole presentation set up prior to the event. This shows that I went way below the bare minimum and put next to no effort into helping out the students and the community.
