Cows in the Meadow 
The Kindergartners will listen to a story and then create a Holstein cow collage dancing in a painted background of a flower-filled meadow.

The Meadow has colorful flowers and tall grass reaching upwards.

The student needs the help of the teacher to paint the grass reaching up toward the sky.

The student paints the grass from left to right at the bottom of their paper with some flowers.
Proficient

The student paints the meadow grasses reaching upward toward the sky with one or two colors of flowers. The student paints either clouds or birds in their sky.
Advanced

The student paints the meadow grasses reaching upward toward the sky with two or more colors of flowers. The student paint clouds, birds, and butterflies in their sky.
The student can glue the cow

to the background to look like it is dancing.

The student can only glue what he/she has put together and is glued upside down with no concern for its location on the background.

The Student has glued the cow to the top of the paper in the sky.
Proficient

The student has glued the cow just above the ground to show that it is dancing.
Advanced

The student has glued the cow just above the ground to show that it is dancing. Lines have been painted or drawn arounds some body parts to show that the cow is moving. The artwork is unique -unlike any other.
