Textures

Level 4

Many thought out textures were made. The student had a good understanding of what textures to make and how clear and dark to make them.
Level 3

Many textures were made, however, it looks as though the student was sometimes unsure of him/herself when creating the textures (i.e. some textures are scribbled or made too light).
Level 2

There is very little variety in texture used, as only one or two textures were used.
Level 1

No textures were used.
Watercolors

Level 4

Watercolors were applied in a neat and creative manner. Colors were evenly and consistently applied (there are no "blotchy" dark or light areas).
Level 3

The application of the watercolor is fairly neat and creative, however, there may be a few areas that need some work (some colors may need to be more evenly and/or consistently applied).
Level 2

The application of the watercolor is not very neat or creative. Many areas are lacking and/or incomplete.
Level 1

The application of the watercolor was not done in a neat or creative manner. The watercolor looks sloppy, as though no effort was put into the project.
Tree(s)

Level 4

The tree(s) is accurate and detailed, including a trunk and branches. The branches are staggered and taper at the ends.
Level 3

The tree(s) is somewhat accurate and detailed. The tree(s) includes a trunk and branches, however the branches may not be staggered and/or taper at the ends.
Level 2

The tree(s) is not very accurate or detailed. Elements are missing, such as the inclusion of a trunk and/or branches as well as the staggering and/or tapering of branches.
Level 1

The tree(s) is not accurate or complete. The tree(s) is missing all elements and details that make it look real and complete.
Craftsmanship

Level 4

Drawing is neat, clean, and complete. The artist has taken their time and their hard work shows. There are no folds, tears, and/or bends in the paper, no unwanted marks and/or smudges.
Level 3

Some attempt was made to make the drawing neat, clean, and complete. There are a few areas that are inadequate or unfinished. There may be some folds, tears, and/or bends in the paper, as well as some unwanted marks and/or smudges.
Level 2

Almost no attempt was made to make the drawing neat, clean, and complete. There are many areas that are inadequate or unfinished. There are many folds, tears, and bends in the paper, as well as many unwanted marks and smudges.
Level 1

Yikes... what happened? The artist has decided to leave a majority of the drawing unfinished. No attempt has been made to create a neat, clean, and complete drawing.
