Invent-A-Toy Project Invent-A-Toy Project Children in the 1870's had to be creative and use whatever they had around the house to make a toy. Create a toy using items that you have around the house. Attractively constructed	Outstanding Toy is extremely well-put together. No obvious mistakes. A child would want to play with this toy.	Very Good Toy is well-put together. A lot of care and consideration was put into it. A few mistakes.	Good Toy is put together fairly well. There are several mistakes; however still fairly solid.	Fair Toy will not stand the test of time. It might last a little bit but will fall apart after a couple of uses.	Poor Toy is flimsy. It will easily fall apart if given to a child. This toy would not catch the attention of a child.
Functionality	Outstanding The toy does what it is intended to do. If a child/parent followed the directions, he/she would easily be able to understand how the toy is to be used.	Very Good The toy does what it is intended to do. If a child/parent followed the directions, he/she would be able to use the toy, however they might have to ask questions of the designer first.	Good The toy does what it is intended to do for just part of the time. Therefore the design is not completely though-out.	Fair The toy does only a small portion of what it is intended to do.	Poor The toy does not do what it is intended to do.

Presentation	Outstanding Student describes and demonstrates toy clearly, enthusiastically, and professionally.	Very Good Student describes and demonstrates toy.	Good Student describes or demonstrates toy.	Fair Student tells the name of the toy.	Poor Student does not share anything about the toy and just turns it in.
